A Message from Our Shepard

20 Oct

As I posted today’s daily inspiration, God made his presence known to me.  So  I opened my dusty ole Bible and did some reading.  Please refer to Chapter 10 of Romans.

Brother’s my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.  Romans 10:1

Christ is the end of law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.  Romans 10:4

That if you confess with your mouth.  “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised from the dead, you will be         saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.  Romans 10:9-10

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  Romans 10:13

Paul is writing a letter to the church at Rome, which is preparing the way for him to make a visit there.  In this chapter he writes about the Israelites and their unrighteous faith toward God.  He prays for them to be saved.  In this passage he speaks that if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, we are proclaiming that Jesus is one with God.  But wait a minute.  That is not good enough.  We must also take that same faith and write it on our hearts.  In other words, we cannot just say that we love and believe in the righteousness of the Lord.  We must also show that same love for God is in our hearts.

Jesus died on the cross for our sins and we must acknowledge this wonderful gift that has been given to us in order for us to be saved from our sins.  This is the central foundation of our faith.  Paul proclaims in this scripture that if we acknowledge all three of these major roles that God has in our lives, then we will be saved.

Jesus calls on each and every one of us to share this awesome message with those who do not know Jesus.  As you can see that is what Paul is doing here.  That means both you and I have this great responsibility to share this powerful message.  Have you asked Jesus to be completely washed from your sins?  Do you know where you are going to when you die?  If not, why not take the time now to do that.  God is our great Shepard and he wants us all to come back home.

Such a wonderful message you shared today Jeffery but what encourages me is that all God’s Children have Salvation before they are Born it is a free gift, Jesus died for everyone in the world past and present and future but by heart repentatence and believing in Him as our Lord and Saviour we accept Salvation and as you can see below it will be shown in our lives because part of Salvation is being set free from the bondage and slavery of sin. It is known as ” Freedom in Christ Jesus” we accept this when we accept our Salvation it is a free gift and we are to believe we have received it as part of Salvation as the early Christians did.

John 8:34-36 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Romans 6:6- 7 For we know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

There are many Scriptures that talk about this Truth, when we are perfected in Love it is shown in righteousness as it was with Jesus. When we are born again of God’s seed we no longer sin.1 John 3:9

John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast Loved them, as thou hast Loved me.

We have been set free, Salvation is all about Love not bondage – 1 John 3:1-11

    Christian Love Anne.
